Anambra – Time for a Paradigm Shift This November

Anambra State has endured too many atrocities and anomalies in recent years, and the time has come for a true paradigm shift.
Yes, one can argue that former Governor Willie Obiano made some positive contributions during his first term in office. Such included constructing three flyovers in Awka and completing the Anambra International Airport (a project initiated under Peter Obi). But those achievements were quickly overshadowed by allegations of embezzlement running into billions of naira, multiple white-elephant projects, over 20 questionable accounts in his name, and a steady regression of the state during his second term.
When compared to today’s administration, the picture becomes even bleaker. The last three and half years have brought about some of the greatest failures in Anambra’s history. Even the devastating impact of the civil war cannot rival the scale of losses in both capital and human resources we now face.
Remembering Our History
Anambra was the birthplace of the Biafran revolution. Our son, Dim Odumegwu Ojukwu of Nnewi, led that secessionist struggle. Ihiala and the Amorka airstrip became lifelines, as relief agencies brought in food and medicine to sustain Ndi Igbo until the war ended.
But the centrality of Anambra also made it a prime target. Cities like Onitsha, Nsukka, and Awka endured heavy bombardments, while Ihiala was pounded relentlessly. The infamous famine images of starving Biafran children that shocked the world were largely from our land.
Yet, in less than a decade after that devastation, Ndi Anambra bounced back. We regained our pride, rebuilt our economy, and reclaimed our reputation as the “Light of the Nation.” That resilience, the survival instinct of our people, is what we must now call upon again.
The Present Crisis
Let us face the truth:
Infrastructure has collapsed. Roads across the state are in deplorable condition. In places like Ihiala, electricity is a luxury.
Insecurity has crippled communities. Some towns and villages have become ghost settlements.
The economy is broken. Inflation is at an all-time high, with the price of basic staples rising by over 153%.
Leadership has failed. Instead of bold solutions, the APGA government feeds us empty promises of a “better second term.” We have seen this movie before—and we know how it ends.
Remember: Obiano’s second term wiped away the goodwill of his first. Why should we make the same mistake again by granting this administration a second mandate?
The Path Forward
This November 8, 2025, we must create our own paradigm shift. The current APGA government has failed and does not deserve another chance.

A Final Appeal
Ndi Anambra, do not sell your future and your children’s future for a mere ₦10,000 handout. We must rise, just as we did after the civil war, and take charge of our destiny.
Let us create this New Paradigm Shift in November. Together, I am confident we will succeed.
